Blake Lively will not be attending the Super Bowl alongside her longtime best friend, Taylor Swift; as the popstar supports her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, in his highly anticipated match against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The news comes following reports that the singer feels “used” by her friend in an escalating legal battle involving actor and director Justin Baldoni, which erupted after the director claimed the Gossip Girl star invoked Swift’s name to pressure him into making changes to It Ends With Us.
So despite being part of Swift‘s VIP entourage at Allegiant Stadium in February 2024, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, Lively will not be making an appearance and has remained noticeably absent throughout the 2024/25 NFL season.
“Blake is not attending the Super Bowl with her,” an insider told the DailyMail.com. “Blake has not left the house since this started practically.
“Taylor wants nothing to do with this trial and court case.”
Swift, Lively, and Baldoni: A Tangled Web of Accusations
Baldoni, who is counter-suing Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds for $400 million, claimed in legal documents that Swift made a surprise appearance at a meeting, allegedly giving the impression that she supported Lively‘s demands.
In a particularly controversial revelation, Lively compared herself to Game of Thrones’ Daenerys Targaryen, referring to Swift and Reynolds as her “dragons” in text messages to Baldoni but sources close to Swift have stated that she was unaware of the meeting’s true nature.
Further reports suggest that the billionaire Eras Tour star has been growing increasingly uneasy over Lively‘s alleged habit of leveraging their friendship, despite the pair of them being best friends for over a decade.
One source claimed, as per the DailyMail.com, “Taylor has learned that Blake has been inappropriately using her name for a long time, even falsely telling a young actress that Taylor ‘cast her,’ which simply did not happen.”
Swift‘s representatives have emphasized that she had no involvement in the making of It Ends With Us and was not a producer or creative consultant on the project.
“Dragging Taylor into it is unnecessary,” insiders told Us Weekly. “And misrepresents what really happened.”
