As anticipation mounts on the eve of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the spotlight now shifts to the introduction of Madrid and its innovative 30-degree turn, promising yet-to-be-disclosed surprises.
However, stealing the show is the breathtaking Qiddiya Circuit, nestled within the expansive entertainment city near Riyadh, under construction since 2019. This circuit, set to redefine the boundaries of motor racing, is the brainchild of renowned designer Hermann Tilke and former driver Alexander Wurz.
Named the Speed Park, this ambitious project is still in its developmental stages. It boasts a towering first corner, reaching a staggering 20 stories in height, aptly dubbed “The Blade,” with mixed zones of asphalt streets reminiscent of the city’s historic quarters and a dedicated show circuit complete with a theme park.
Elevated terraces offer a unique viewing experience, positioned almost trackside instead of traditional grandstands. Adjacent to the circuit lies a straight stretch, running parallel to a rollercoaster, with the majestic Tuwaiq Mountains serving as a picturesque backdrop.
