Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens, one of America’s most beloved power couples, recently shared a glimpse into their lives at the Sports Illustrated Award Day.
Biles, who was honored with the Sports Person of the Year Award for her incredible achievements at the 2024 Paris Olympics – where she won three gold medals and one silver for Team USA – took the opportunity to open up about her role as a supportive NFL wife.

When asked who is the better cheerleader between the two, Simone made a surprising admission about her focus during football games.
“Jonathan, he knows me more, and he really pays attention. After the first half, I lose track of the game,” Simone confessed with a laugh. Jonathan quickly agreed, adding humor to the moment. “I’ll be locked in. She’ll hear everybody else yelling, and she’ll be like, ‘What happened?'”
Despite her self-proclaimed lack of focus, Jonathan deeply appreciates her support. “It’s the thought that counts,” he said warmly. “She comes to cheer for me, and that means a lot. I love it.”
Simone has been a frequent presence at Chicago Bears games this season, often spotted cheering for her husband from the stands. Their pregame tradition includes a lucky kiss, adding a heartfelt touch to their game-day routine.

While Simone jokingly deferred the title of “better cheerleader” to Jonathan, he was quick to return the favor by declaring her the superior athlete. “She’s the better athlete. I’m doing no backflips!” he said, eliciting laughter from his wife.

Simone admitted Jonathan has the edge in fashion, saying, “I just wear sweats, okay?” In return, Jonathan praised Simone’s cooking skills, saying, “I’ve been coming home, and the house has been smelling great. She’s holding it down.”
