The news of the day in Atlanta – and around the world – is a 76-year-old woman who went viral after a video was shared on social media of the moment when a doctor tells her she is 12 weeks pregnant, while she remains lying in what appears to be a hospital bed, to which she went after feeling dizzy, a symptom that her family related to her blood sugar level.
“What am I?”
The video in which the doctor makes the unexpected announcement to the elderly woman went viral almost immediately and was recorded by her great-granddaughter named Miyah, who captured her great-grandmother’s reaction to the supposed discovery of the medical staff: “We have obtained the results of your urine and you are definitely pregnant”.
The moment is hilarious because the doctor then asks the old woman – not without a slight smile – if she has had sex recently, to which the woman replies that she has not.
In a later video, the elderly woman’s great-granddaughter clarified that the elderly woman had to provide a urine sample so that the doctors could perform some tests, and from there came everything that was recorded and went viral on social networks.
The Atlanta grandmother who would break a record
If the woman’s pregnancy were to come to a successful end, something that cannot be known in advance, she would become the oldest mother in history, as she would break the record of Indian woman Erramatti Mangamma, who in 2019 at the age of 73 underwent in vitro fertilization and as a result gave birth to twins by caesarean section
According to the woman’s great-granddaughter, they are going to hold a baby shower after the news, as she said that her great-grandmother wants to have the baby and keep it, although at first she admitted that they did not know who was going to raise it.
While all of this remains in the realm of what is strictly verifiable, the video has already accumulated more than 40 million views in four days, and continues to rise.
