While Corey Perry’s time with the Chicago Blackhawks is all but over, the left winger can count on the support of his wife, Blakeny Perry.
Corey was recently placed on unconditional waivers by the NHL team following an internal investigation. The decision comes after the team determined that he “engaged in conduct that is unacceptable” and violated the terms of his contract and the Blackhawks’ internal policies.
The move comes amidst rumors that Perry’s dismissal was due to an alleged relationship with Connor Bedard’s mother, something GM Kyle Davidson denied.
Although Corey’s time in Chicago is all but over, the Canadian can still count on the support of his wife, Blakeny Perry. Here’s everything we know about her.
Blakeny Perry is from Canada
Born in Timmins, Ontario, Canada, Blakeny went by Blakeny Robertson before marrying Corey.
She attended Western University and is known for giving her time to charitable causes, including the Lady Duck Soiree, the Learn to Play Programme and the Ronald McDonald House.
She and Corey are parents to son Griffen, born in August 2017. Griffin is known to be a big fan of Corey and the teams he plays for, with Blakeny often spotted with her son in the stands.
Corey and Blakeny Perry’s relationship
The two are said to have fallen in love in 2010 after meeting through a common friend at a bar in London. That’s where Blakeny worked as a bartender.
Their first date saw them visit African Lions Safari, and after four years of dating, Corey is said to have proposed in 2014 at New Port Beach.
Corey and Blakeny then got married on July 18, 2015 at Koerner Gardens. Although her husband has had a high-profile career on the ice, Blakeny has opted to keep a high level of privacy when it comes to their personal life.
