Unfortunately, the situation has not changed. In fact, it could be even worse. As reported by Dexerto, analyst Matthew Ball has reaffirmed this situation and commented that many studios and companies would be waiting for the release of GTA 6 to also increase the price of their games
In fact, he has expressed that if this happens, there would be “hope” for the industry, being able to get out of its theoretical bad situation thanks to this. It would not be the first time, since Rockstar was also a pioneer in raising the selling price from 60 to 70 dollars.
While it is true that it is not yet official, both he and other analysts believe that Rockstar’s supposed investment (there is talk of $2 billion in development costs) would motivate this price increase and that the rest would take advantage of it to do the same and not be the first.

This answer is the only good news regarding this whole issue, since, without getting too specific, it would be discrediting some of the rumors that speak of a price increase.
However, this does not mean that we are ‘safe’. Reports that point to an increase in the selling price of video games due to the increasing costs of production come from various sources, so there is still nothing certain.
