The UFC currently has nine different weight classes in the men’s division.
Each division offers something different in terms of style and abilities, from big punches to submissions. Here are the weight limits for each of them.
UFC men’s weight classes
- Strawweight: 52.3 kilograms is the limit (115 pounds).
- Flyweight: 56.7 kilograms (125 pounds).
- Bantamweight: 61.2 kilograms (135 pounds).
- Featherweight: 65.8 kilograms (145 pounds).
- Lightweight: 70.3 kilograms (155 pounds).
- Welterweight: 77.1 kilograms (170 pounds).
- Middleweight: 83.9 kilograms (185 pounds).
- Light Heavyweight: 93.0 kilograms (205 pounds).
- Heavyweight: 120.2 kilograms (265 pounds).
There are nine different weight classes, and in each of them there are very entertaining fights and champions who stand out. For example, Conor McGregor was one of the most controversial champions, but also one of the ones who made the biggest names.
UFC women’s divisions
The UFC has incorporated women and created more and more divisions, so here they are
- Atomweight: 47 kilograms (105 pounds).
- Strawweight: 52 kilograms (115 pounds).
- Flyweight: 56 kilograms (125 pounds).
- Bantamweight: 61 kilograms (135 pounds).
- Featherweight: 65 kilograms (145 pounds).
- Lightweight: 70 kilograms (155 pounds).
Brazil’s Amanda Nunes is the most recognised champion and holds the featherweight and bantamweight belts.
