In recent weeks, shoppers have been going to great lengths to get their hands on Pokemon trading cards, as shown in several videos and photos taken at different Costco stores circulating on social media.
Due to the high demand for Pokemon trading cards, which has led to fights among customers, Costco has taken extreme measures and is imposing new rules for their purchase.
The wholesale chain’s decision was due to the fights, scuffles and shouting by customers in the aisles of some branches.
Euphoria for Pokemon trading cards
Fans of Pokemon did not hesitate to go to Costco to buy the collectible cards, but the euphoria of the customers was such that they literally fought to get them.
On social networks, images of the fights that broke out at Costco circulated, showing shoving and even punches in the face of customers against other consumers.
In the comments that can be seen on Reddit, there is also reference to the concern for Costco employees in the face of the euphoria of customers and Pokemon fans.

The madness begins even before the doors of the Costco branches open. In the videos, a crowd of people can be seen lined up outside, anxiously waiting for the moment when Costco employees finally open them to let shoppers in.
On Reddit, a user posted images of the fight he was able to witness between two men who wanted to buy the collectible cards.
Costco puts limits on the purchase of Pokemon cards
So to avoid such incidents, Costco has put a limit of two units per customer, and keep the cards safe to prevent violent incidents from happening again.
Each kit contains 150 collectible pieces, with a price close to 45 dollars.
A Reddit user shared the image where Costco sets the limit of cards per customer so that there is no doubt for collectors who want to go for some units.
Although this is not the first time the wholesale chain has resorted to extreme measures with Pokemon-related merchandise.
The measure was applied during the last Black Friday, which limited the number of Pokemon mini tins to three.
