Not only did the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense put on a masterclass in the first half of Super Bowl LIX, but so did the advertising agencies in charge of the commercials seen on Fox, who made the commercial breaks a real catwalk.
But in this edition, attention was drawn to a commercial starring singer Seal, who did a special version of his hit Kiss From a Rose.
On social media, the Mountain Dew ad was shared, in which singer Seal appears as a seal, in a play on words with the meaning of his name
The 30-second ad features Seal in the body of a seal, singing a version of “Kiss From a Rose,” but adapted with the qualities of the lime soda.
The commercial ends with Seal failing to open the soda with his flippers, in front of several tourists, including singer Becky G.
“Kiss from a Rose” is a song released in 1994, and internationally on the soundtrack of the film Batman Forever. “Kiss From a Rose” was the theme song of 1995, winning the Grammy for Best Song.
The 30-second Super Bowl spot costs agencies $7 million.
