The Strahan family will never forget October 2013, a date that would mark their lives forever. Isabella, Michael‘s daughter, would have a complicated month with several ailments.
Sophia, the sister, commented in an exclusive interview with People about the beginning of Isabella‘s illness: “She called and said she was vomiting blood. This situation caught her attention and she immediately went to find her father and mother.
Isabella received the worst news anyone could receive, it was not just any illness or stress, she had a tumor growing in her brain.

She was operated on immediately as the doctors did not want to waste a second. Her 19th birthday, which should have been very special, turned into a nightmare in the hospital.
The recovery was not easy
The surgery was a success, but what lay ahead for Isabella was a challenge beyond belief.
Isabella spent eight nights in the hospital, faced two more surgeries to fight off infection, and even had her skull wired with titanium mesh. Despite the ordeal, the Strahan family came together, and they did.
As Isabella entered a stage where she had to learn to eat, walk and talk, her sister, Sophia, was always there to help. She would not turn her back on her during the most complicated time of her life.
Sophia was there for her, pushing her in her wheelchair was not easy, but she was 100% committed to her.

Much faith for the future
Isabella told People exclusively, how she is currently living life: “You can’t predict what will happen, and that’s a little scary. I think I should live every day. Take advantage of every opportunity. My diagnosis is part of me, but it doesn’t define me. I want to be a voice,” he said.
Her story has many chapters to tell and she will do so in a documentary on ABC with Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahan’s Fight to Beat Cancer, this coming February 5, where she will tell absolutely everything.
That should come as no surprise, as she also uses a YouTube channel to tell all about her disease and how she is fighting it. An inspiration for women not to give up in the most difficult moments.
