Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama are reportedly facing serious marital challenges behind closed doors. While they continue to maintain a unified public image, insiders suggest that their relationship has quietly deteriorated in recent months, fueled by tension, growing distance and whispers of another woman.
According to a source close to the couple, Michelle has had enough and is ready to move on, despite the political and financial implications of a split.
“Michelle is finished with Washington and finished with Barack. She knows they can’t risk destroying their legacy with a messy, public divorce. But behind closed doors, it’s a different story,” one insider told RadarOnline.com.
Cracks in their relationship
Speculation about the couple’s troubled marriage has been mounting, particularly as Barack Obama has been seen out alone more frequently.
Reports suggest that he has been spending increasing amounts of time dining solo at elite D.C. restaurants, while Michelle, 61, has been notably absent from key events.
Adding fuel to the fire, sources close to the former president claim that his distraction may be tied to a rumored “other woman.”
“He’s adjusting to life without her. People close to them know that this has been coming for a long time now,” said one insider.
Observers first noticed cracks in their relationship when Michelle was missing from former President Jimmy Carter‘s funeral-a highly unusual absence, given her reputation for always showing up and playing the role.
Barack attended alone, seated alongside other former U.S. presidents and first ladies, while Michelle was nowhere to be seen.
