Carlos Alcaraz won 6-3, 6-1 against Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals of Indian Wells, in a match that lasted 1 hour and 29 minutes and that will be remembered for the invasion of bees in the center court that forced officials to stop the match nine minutes into the match, with the score 1-1,
“I’m a little afraid of bees and the match will be remembered for the invasion of the court and not for the tennis,” Alcaraz said after his win against Zverev.
Alcaraz‘s agent Albert Molina confirmed to MARCA that one of the bees had stung the tennis player on the side of his forehead.
“Carlos is fine; he noticed a sting, then he was surrounded and decided to run away even before the match was suspended,” Molina told Onda Cero.
“He was only stung by a bee; he does not have any kind of allergy”.

At the moment the match was suspended, the main protagonist in the center court of Indian Wells was Lance Davis, known as ‘Killer Bee’.
He was the person in charge of removing the bees from the court with a vacuum cleaner and without any kind of protection. By managing to remove the bees, he became the big hero of the day.
