Fans believe they’ve spotted a problem with Meghan Markle‘s engagement ring during a recent video of the Duchess of Sussex, believing she’s changed part of it, as she faces rumors her marriage is on the rocks.
For much of the second-half of 2024, claims circulated there is a bit of tension between the 43-year-old and her husband, Prince Harry. Critics pointed to their individual events and tours and some of the outfits the ex-actress wore, believing she was sending a message to her man.
However, as she prepares to release With Love, Meghan on Netflix on March 4 in the wake of the wildfires in Los Angeles disrupting the January 15 premiere, eagle-eyed watchers believe they’ve spotted a modification on her ring.
“I don’t think the centre stone is the same,” one user said via X.com, formerly Twitter. “The original was more cushion-shaped, and what she wears now is closer to emerald cut.”
The former Suits star was given the ring, which contained a central stone from Botswana as well as two diamonds from Princess Diana, in 2017 when she accepted Prince Harry‘s hand in marriage.
The stones were set in a yellow-hue gold, which is also Markle‘s favorite color. It was then recommissioned in 2019 to add more diamonds after they tied the knot at St. George’s Chapel. He also gifted her an eternity ring.
Another user said, “Is that the fourth evolution of the ring?”
And a third commented, “Looks like she’s changed the centre stone from a round diamond to the more expensive square cut.”
Meghan delays documentary release
Due to the fires in Los Angeles, which have affected Hollywood Hills and Sunset Boulevard as just part of the 40,000 acres of Californian land scorched, Markle and Netflix made the decision to postpone her documentary’s premiere.
In the wake of 200,000 evacuated people and over 25 dead, the decision was an easy one to allow Markle and the LA community to “focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires” in the city.
With Love, Meghan will now release on March 4 and will give fans a rare insight to the woman behind the Duchess of Sussex persona.
