The businessman has been accused of bribery of porn actress Stormy Daniels, something that could mean Trump’s imprisonment. However, this does not end here as there is another woman who is now charging against him, the former Playboy model Karen McDougal.
What is Karen McDougal’s claim?
Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model, claims to have had an extramarital affair with Trump between 2006 and 2007. A similar case to that of Stormy Daniels, something that prosecutor Bragg is already investigating as another bribe from the tycoon to prevent her from revealing the infidelity to the media.
In 2016, McDougal sold the exclusive of her affair with Donald Trump to The National Enquirer for $150,000 during Trump’s election campaign on his way to the White House. However, that story never saw the light of day, as the businessman had an agreement with the newspaper’s parent company, American Media Inc.
In 2018, Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, was already working on the Stormy Daniels case, and went so far as to investigate McDougal’s bribery. In order to avoid going to trial, American Media Inc. admitted to making the $150,000 payment to the former model in collaboration with members of the Trump campaign.
Cohen is now one of those responsible for triggering the indictment of Donald Trump. Both cases are the same, even that of Karen McDougal is more serious as the amount paid is 150,000 dollars, compared to 130,000 for Stormy Daniels.
