Marco Verde was able to share his happiness with his family and have a last shot of encouragement to prepare for the boxing final at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
After receiving a mysterious congratulatory call, Verde was welcomed by fans, media, including MARCA MX, and his family.

Advancing to the final was not just any old thing, it broke a 40-year streak of not having a Mexican fighter present in a battle for Olympic gold.
“It’s the last push to close. I’m going to give everything as I always do in every fight. I want to lift Mexico and make them feel that emotion when I’m in the ring, that they feel the same way I do,” he said.
That story can be accompanied by perfection, as Marco is champion of the Central American and Caribbean Games of San Salvador 2023 and also climbed to the top of the podium at the Pan American Games of Santiago 2023. Now, a third medal could be Olympic and gold.
“Let whatever happens happen, it’s a big dream and dreams come true,” he said.

Together with his coach, Radames Hernandes, Verde highlighted the work that has been done in the Parisian capital.
“We have done a great job, the preparation is there and it shows. I arrived very fresh, it was a very smart fight. We were smarter and managed to win,” he said.

“I have not fought him, but we have already seen him with my trainer and he comes from being a world champion. He is a difficult opponent, we are going to plan the strategy,” he said.
