The celebrations continue for Saquon Barkley as the star running back, fresh off a remarkable season with the Philadelphia Eagles, shared some exciting personal news.
Just a week before the Eagles are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 2025, Barkley announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Anna Congdon.
Barkley, 27, and Congdon’s relationship began during their time at Penn State, where Barkley played from 2015 to 2017. The couple has since built a family together, raising their daughter Jada and son Saquon Jr.
Reflecting on his success, Barkley has spoken highly of Congdon, acknowledging her unwavering support.
“I can’t be the athlete I am and have the success I have without the help of her,” he told People Magazine.

A standout season in Philadelphia
After spending the first six years of his NFL career with the New York Giants, Barkley joined the Eagles in free agency last March, signing a three-year, $37.75 million deal with $26 million guaranteed. His first season in Philadelphia has been nothing short of spectacular. Barkley became the ninth running back in NFL history to surpass 2,000 yards in a single season, finishing with an impressive 2,005 yards.
His explosive performance continued in the NFC Championship game, where Barkley scored three touchdowns in a dominant 55-23 victory over the Washington Commanders, securing his first-ever Super Bowl appearance.

The Eagles are hoping to get their Super Bowl revenge on the Chiefs after their heartbreaking 38-35 loss in the 2023 Super Bowl. This time, with Barkley on their roster, they are determined to bring home the title.
“The goal wasn’t just getting there, the goal is to win,” Barkley said after the Championship game. “We’re going to celebrate and enjoy this, get right back to work.”
Super Bowl 2025 kicks off at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans next Sunday at 6:30 p.m., and Barkley is poised to make a lasting impact on the game, both on the field and in his personal life.
