The Kansas City Chiefs are heading back to the Super Bowl for the fifth time in six seasons and the third time in a row, solidifying their legacy as one of the best teams in NFL’s history.
One of the biggest reasons why the Chiefs have had so much success is the great chemistry that superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes and iconic tight end Travis Kelce have displayed on the playoffs for years.
They have three Super Bowl titles to show for and Sunday February the 9th they will have the opportunity to do something no other team has accomplished: become the only franchise to win three NFL championships in a row. The game will be played at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Kelce gave his honest take on Mahomes in 2018
A video of a 2018 interview that Travis Kelce gave to Rich Eisen resurfaced weeks before Super Bowl LIX. During the interaction, Eisen asked Kelce what he thought about quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who had just became the starter after the Kansas City Chiefs traded Alex Smith to the Washington Commanders.
Kelce talked about the fact that he had a hard time accepting the fact that Alex Smith was not going to be his quarterback anymore because he mentioned the fact that he owed a lot of his success to the first overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft.

“I know Pat is ready for the opportunity, he’s taking a lot of mental reps and a lot of notes from Alex on how this thing should be ran. Obviously everyone’s excited to see what he can do.” Kelce said about the former Texas Tech Raiders quarterback.
Eisen mentioned the fact that then Denver Broncos’ cornerback Chris Harris Jr. talked about Mahomes as a “kid that had some serious ability” and then went on to ask Kelce about Mahomes skills and posure as the Chiefs’ quarterback.
“What he does in practice is fun to watch because he is kind of just being a backyard quarterback, throwing it all, every way imaginable. You can think of sidearm, underhand, putting the ball anywhere on the field. It was definitely fun watching him in that regard and when he played against the Broncos, he had a lot of footballs where he put it right on the money. It’s going to be exciting.” Kelce replied.
Mahomes has some impressive numbers in the playoffs
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is now 17-3 in the postseason and he has moved past Joe Montana for sole possession of the second-most postseason victories by a starting quarterback in NFL history on Sunday. Only legendary quarterback Tom Brady, with 35, owns more.

It wasn’t without some theatrics, either, as Mahomes led his sixth-career fourth-quarter comeback in the postseason, passing Montana for the second-most all-time. Again, only Brady recorded more in league history (with 9). Mahomes also now owns a winning record for his career in games that he trailed at some point in the fourth quarter at 27-26.
Patrick Mahomes is now in line to make his fifth start in the Super Bowl, and once he does, he’ll join Brady and John Elway as the only quarterbacks in league history to do so. Additionally, Brady started his fifth Super Bowl when he was 34 years old, and Elway was 38. Mahomes is just 29.
