Following a three-year battle with ALS, Bryan Randall, the long-term partner of actress Sandra Bullock, has passed away with the Hollywood star by his side.
Randall, a photographer by trade, had been suffering from the illness for the past three years and Bullock was caring for him for much of that time, having met in 2015.
“It is with great sadness that we share that on August 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS,” a statement published by his family confirmed.
“Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.”
Insight into Sandra Bullock’s support
After his passing, Bullock‘s sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, shared an intimate insight into their battle with a picture of Randall.
“I’m convinced that Bry has found the best fishing spot in heaven and is already casting his lure into rushing rivers teaming with salmon,” Gesine wrote.
“ALS is a cruel disease but there is some comfort in knowing he had the best of caretakers in my amazing sister and the band of nurses she assembled who helped her look after him in their home.”
Bullock is yet to comment publicly on the passing of her partner.
