In the 1990s, Melissa Joan Hart was one of the most popular TV stars thanks to her role in ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’.
However, she was very close to being fired by that show because of one photo shoot.
“I’m at a party and my lawyer shows up and goes ‘You did a photo shoot for Maxim magazine?'” she revealed while appearing on Pod Meets World.
“I’m like ‘Yes, I did’ and they’re like ‘Well, you’re being sued and fired from your show, so don’t talk to the press, don’t do anything’.
“I get a phone call on my cell phone from my mother, my producer, who was like ‘What did you do?’ and I was like ‘I don’t know, whatever my publicist told me to do at the photo shoot’.
“I did a photo shoot for Maxim! It’s Maxim, of course you’re gonna be in your underwear.”
This came at a time when the actress had also been dropped from a role in ‘Scary Movie’.
“My father comes up to me and goes ‘You okay?’ and I was like ‘No’,” she continued.
“He hugs me, and I was crying even harder because my dad is hugging me.
“I’m being fired from my show, I was just fired from ‘Scary Movie’ and I just broke up with my boyfriend.”

Luckily for the actress, she was able to keep her position in ‘Sabrina’, but not before writing a letter of apology.
The issue was resolved and she was able to appear in ‘Sabrina’, until long after the 1995 photo shoot.
