Joe Rogan, a longtime commentator and one of the most recognizable voices in UFC, has admitted that he would break one of his own steadfast rules if a certain dream fight were to happen.
Despite scaling back his involvement with the UFC to focus on other ventures, Rogan has his eyes set on a potential bout between two champions that would compel him to return to the commentary booth, even if it meant breaking his own contract.

Rogan, who has been working with the UFC for over 25 years, has recently limited his commentary duties, especially when it comes to international events.
He explained that he made this decision to focus on his immensely popular podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” and other business opportunities.
However, during a recent discussion on his YouTube channel, Rogan confessed that there is one fight he simply couldn’t resist.
“If Dricus [du Plessis] goes up to 205 and fights Alex [Pereira], oh my goodness,”Rogan exclaimed.
“I’ll fly to the moon to commentate that fight. I want to see that fight. That’s crazy.”
The hypothetical matchup between middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis and light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira would be a clash that Rogan believes is worth bending the rules for.
But to do so, Rogan would be defying a strict policy he agreed upon with UFC President Dana White: no more international travel for work.
Rogan elaborated on this rule during a 2016 podcast episode with UFC featherweight Jeremy Stephens, saying, “I had a conversation with Dana [White], we had a bunch of conversations. What I decided to do was no more international travel. No more flying across the planet. I signed for at least one more year. I was on the fence, man. I just do too much sh*t. I’m too f**king busy. I don’t know if I’m doing myself or all the other things I do a disservice.”
If the much-anticipated fight between Du Plessis and Pereira were to materialize, it would likely take place in South Africa, the home country of Du Plessis.
Given Pereira’s expressed interest in returning to the middleweight division to challenge Du Plessis, the bout could indeed be on the horizon, potentially tempting Rogan to break his no-travel rule.
Rogan’s passion for the sport and his respect for both fighters is evident, and UFC fans would undoubtedly be thrilled to hear his commentary on such an epic showdown.
Despite his earlier reluctance, Rogan’s willingness to break his own rules for this potential fight speaks volumes about the magnitude of this matchup.
