Tekashi 6ix9ine decided to turn himself in to the authorities after an arrest warrant was issued in the Dominican Republic for the beating he allegedly inflicted on two music producers in La Vega.
The events that occurred during a music recording have resulted in serious legal consequences, reports ‘People en Español’ magazine. One of the victims requires surgery, because his jaw was dislocated by the blows.
It all happened when, motivated by jealousy, the rapper, who apparently is no longer in a relationship with Anuel AA’s ex, assaulted the team of the Dominican producer and singer Diamond La Mafia, who collaborates with Yailin La Más Viral in a musical track.
After the incidents it was Tekashi 6ix9ine himself who voluntarily turned himself in, as announced by his lawyer Andres Toribio.
“I make public that my sponsored Daniel Hernandez (Tekashi) voluntarily surrendered to the authorities, so we will not believe in any kind of illegal action, simulating an alleged raid is not good. Raids lend themselves to a lot…”, he said in his X profile.
Tekashi is accused of violating articles 265, 266, 307 and 309 of the Dominican Penal Code, to the detriment of Cristian Anthony Rojas and Nelson Alfonso Hilario Garcia.
Who is Tekashi 6ix9ine?
Born in New York City in 1996, the rapper is 27 years old and is a producer of hip hop, scream rap, SoundCloud rap and punk rap and has been active since 2012.
Hernandez has been a known quantity in music since approximately 2017, after participating in ‘Poles 1469’ by Trippie Redd. Since then, he went on to produce ‘Gummo’, ‘Day69’ and ‘Dummy Boy’, with the latter going on to reach the Billboard Hot 100.
He has had several run-ins with the law. In 2015, he pleaded guilty to use of a child in a sexual performance, in 2018 he was arrested on racketeering and narcotics charges and was sent to prison but released early.
He was in informant in the Nine Trey Gangsters trail, in which he became an internet meme, leading to others in the hip hop community distancing themselves from the then-23-year-old.
