Chelsea Clinton has made some comments regarding her ex-presidential friend, Ivanka Trump. In a recent interview with Andy Cohen on his show, Watch what happens, Chelsea Clinton mentioned that she “crossed over to the dark side” and they haven’t spoken since 2016 when her mom lost the presidency to Ivanka’s father, Donald Trump.
In the interview, she was joined by her mom and ex-candidate of the Democratic Party for the Presidency of the US, Hillary Clinton.
“I would say we were friends, She’s not the person I called when I was curious about something for my kids or if I was debating a life decision, but we were definitely friends. And then she went to the dark side.” Chelsea commented.
Jared Kushner lies
During the interview, she also mentioned that Jared Kushner who is Ivanka’s husband lied in his most recent book, where he claims that back in November of 2016, Ivanka invited Chelsea to dinner.
No dinner invitation
Chelsea claims that she spoke to Ivanka, however, there were no meal invitations “It is true that I spoke to Ivanka in November 2016, it’s the last time I have spoken to her, but I do not recall being invited to dinner.”
“I still consider her a very close friend”
In other interviews such as the one she had with Vogue, Clinton claims that she still enjoyed Ivanka’s company “I still consider her a very close friend, and she considers me as well. We have a great relationship.”
“She’s always aware of everyone around her and ensuring that everyone is enjoying the moment, It’s an awareness that in some ways reminds me of my dad, and his ability to increase the joy of the room. There’s nothing skin-deep about Ivanka.”
Collision of cruelty and incompetence
Chelsea had a change of heart during the presidency of Trump, she told Andy Cohen last year that “I have no interest in being friends with someone who is not only complicit but actively taking part in this administration’s every day collision of cruelty and incompetence.”
Trafficking in racism and sexism as well as antisemitism, Islamophobia, and phobias against the LGBT community
She continued “We were in touch at the beginning of the campaign, but it’s just really hard when there’s someone who’s actively embracing their candidate, whether it’s their father or not, who is trafficking in racism and sexism and anti-Semitism and Islamophobia and homophobia and transphobia and conspiracy theories and lies and is so fundamentally corrupt.”
