Speculation in the media suggests that Charlie Sheen could participate in the reboot, but there is a condition attached to his involvement, which is for the actor to be sober.
For those familiar with the series, it is known that Charlie Sheen, who portrayed the main character Charlie Harper, was fired after the eighth season due to his struggles with alcohol and his conflicts with the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre.
Ashton Kutcher then took over the role, and the storyline revealed that Charlie Harper had passed away, with his funeral attended by his many mistresses and his lavish beachfront house put up for sale.
Following Sheen‘s departure, the show experienced a decline in audience figures, as his distinctive presence was missed.
The subsequent seasons failed to capture the same appeal, leading to its eventual conclusion after four more seasons.
Repairing relationship
However, over time, the relationship between Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre has significantly improved.
In fact, they are set to collaborate on the comedy ‘How to be a bookie’ which will soon premiere on the Max platform.
This development has sparked speculation about a potential reboot of ‘Two and a Half Men,’ which Melanie Lynskey, who portrayed Rose, Charlie Harper’s neighbor and later wife, has commented on.
“The last time I was texting with Charlie, he seemed in such a good place, honestly like a good place,” Linsky said on Variety’s Awards Circuit podcast.
“I always hope the best for both of them [Sheen and Lorre], sincerely. I think it’s amazing.
“I would guest star if they wanted to. There were moments on that show that were so funny. And I really love live audience sitcoms.”
