Josh Allen has been praised as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL for the 2023-24 season, but on-air analyst Cris Collinsworth has apparently taken his admiration too far.
The 64-year-old is a commentator on NBC Sports and weeks after Tony Romo waxed lyrical over Allen during a game against the Kansas City Chiefs, it was Collinsworth‘s turn to put him on a pedestal with the AFC East title on the line.
Whether it was lusting over the strength of the quarterback’s arm or his ability to continue their drive on offense by getting first downs, there was the highest of praise from Collinsworth.
Needless to say, he was impressed again with Allen’s performance as the Bills won 21-14 against the Miami Dolphins, with Allen throwing for over 350 yards during the game and scoring two touchdowns.
But fans on social media questioned Collinsworth‘s one-sided coverage, especially when the 27-year-old had made a series of errors – including throwing two interceptions.

“Cris Collinsworth slobbering over Josh Allen when he has two interceptions is extremely weird. It’s like he has a strange obsession with Allen or something,” one fan noted on X, formerly Twitter.
“The way Chris Collinsworth has been glazing Josh Allen all game is disgusting. Get off his meat,” another wrote.
In any case, Allen probably won’t mind earning such praise after the Bills were confirmed as AFC East champions. But it appears to be doing some harm to Collinsworth’s credibility given the widespread disapproval to his unbalanced opinion.
Their victory over the Dolphins in Week 18 was their fifth in a row after also beating the Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots to earn the conference’s No. 2 seed.
It was notable how confident the Bills were in the aftermath of their victory on Sunday, with wide receiver Stefon Diggs uttering: “Four more”, to his teammates in reference to how many games they need to reach the Super Bowl. After this result, few would bet against them getting there.
