A new report claims Meghan Markle has adopted a parenting role towards Prince Harry and is acting like his mother as the 40-year-old British Royal finds himself left without any friends in California.
The Duchess is thought to be acting like a “caregiver” to make sure her husband can have an easy life, whilst he returns the favor by trying o make all of her wishes come true as they enter their sixth year of marriage.
“I can picture him meeting Meghan,” a source told Vanity Fair. “And being just a deep breath of, like, ‘I’ve been so exhausted, and you make everything so easy.’
“I don’t want to be like, oh, it’s an Oedipus thing or whatever, but it kind of feels like she’s reparenting him in a way.”
Additionally, the story claims Prince Harry has been left so fearful following the death of his mother, Princess Diana, that he fears history could repeat itself by losing the Duchess of Sussex too.
As a result, he’s said to be very protective of the 43-year-old mother of his two children, Archie and Lilibet.
Historically, he has defended Markle from the press and notably released a statement slamming the media for treatment of her, flying in the face of royal protocols.
Prince Harry “socially marooned”
The report by Vanity Fair also goes on to talk about how Queen Elizabeth II‘s grandson isn’t exactly struggling to fit friends into his schedules, describing him as “socially marooned” following his decision to quit Britain’s Royal Family in 2020.
However, another source suggested this could be a self-imposed decision by Prince Harry, who said she thinks he “probably wants to be left alone”.
Since he left the Royals as a senior member in 2020 with his wife, he has lost any relationships with Prince William and Kate Middleton. His relationship with his father, the King, is also on the rocks thanks to his 2021 interview with Oprah and his 2023 memoir, Spare.
