The famous businessman Mark Zuckerberg is facing a reality that today is part of the daily dynamics of the current media environment and the different entities that are covered as a source by those same media: leaks that give rise to information that is often based on transcendental and not official versions, something very common these days.
The paradox of the matter is that the media learned of Zuckerberg’s reaction to the leaks at his company Meta, through a leaked video!, which becomes a ‘media ouroboros’ that has everyone on tenterhooks.
“Everything I say leaks,” Zuckerberg shouted during a meeting last Thursday: “It’s bullshit,” said the Facebook creator, and today one of the richest businessmen in the world, with a fortune estimated at $233 billion.
The leak will be punished at Meta
The surreptitiously recorded material was released by 404 Media and shows Zuckerberg complaining about the leaks. “We try to be really open, and then everything I say gets leaked,” so according to the outlet, he will now be more careful about what he says and does internally at his company, which is currently more exposed because of its manifest predilection and support for President Donald Trump.
Another portal, Mediaite, reported that as a result of this repeated phenomenon within Meta, its chief information security officer, Guy Rosen, issued a stern warning to all employees via an internal memo, and assured that there would be “repercussions” for anyone caught talking to the media, including dismissal. And another paradox, the memo was also leaked.
It read: “When we steal or leak information, there are repercussions beyond the immediate impact on security. Our teams become demoralized and we all lose time that would be better spent working on our products and pursuing our goals and mission.”
Zuckerberg’s timely – and filtered – words
Part of Zuckerberg’s speech at this internal meeting – which was leaked to the media – was made public and shows the entrepreneur’s frustration: “I want to be able to talk about things openly, but I’m also trying to build things and create value in the world, not destroy value by talking about things that inevitably get leaked (…) There are a bunch of things that I think destroy value if I mention them, so I’m not going to talk about them, although you can all give us your feedback later. Maybe it’s just the nature of running a large-scale company, but it’s a little disappointing,” he told his employees.
