Family and friends are mourning the tragic loss of Hugh Douglas Jr., the son of former NFL standout Hugh Douglas.
Hugh Jr. and Christion Files Jr., both 20 years old, were involved in a devastating car crash earlier this week that claimed both their lives. The incident occurred in East Point, Georgia, as their vehicle crashed head-on into a utility pole, flipping over in the process.
The victims were roommates at Morehouse College
Hugh Douglas Jr. and Christion Files Jr. were both students at Morehouse College, set to graduate in 2025.
The two young men were known for their dedication and commitment to their studies and extracurricular activities.
Hugh Jr. pursued a major in business administration with a concentration in finance while his roommate, Christion Files Jr., majored in business administration with a concentration in marketing and was a member of the Morehouse Track & Field team.
Douglas Sr. mourns his son
The tragedy deeply affected Hugh Douglas Sr., a former NFL star who spent ten years in the league, playing for the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Douglas Sr. had a successful football career and was inducted into the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame in November 2022.
Taking to social media, Douglas shared touching throwback photos of him and his beloved son, expressing his heartache in a heartfelt tribute. “You were already a better man than me,” he wrote in one post showcasing a photo of his son while talking during a class in college.
