“I would assume that, probably, it’s already playable and a bunch of people are testing it from start to finish” said Mike York, who believes (although he does not say so categorically) that GTA 6 is already finished.

For those who don’t know him, Mike York is a former Rockstar developer who worked on GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, so he knows the studio’s modus operandi. However, he does not have any inside information.

“They’re probably still creating some new things here and there, or adding things here and there, of course, but I would assume that it’s probably already playable and that a lot of people are testing it from start to finish,” he said.

“There are probably a lot of bugs and now they are fixing them while trying to find more and more bugs, as many as possible, before release, because a game like GTA 6 is different from any other,” he added.

He also recalled his experience during the development of the previous installment, Grand Theft Auto 5: “I played GTA 5 every day for about 8 to 10 hours.” This is not unusual, since there is no better way to find bugs than by testing the product before its release.

That said, if we take into account that the CEO of Take-Two has insisted that GTA 6 will not be delayed everything indicates that the game is on track. Of course, we cannot take Mike’s words as proof, but they are encouraging.

Likewise, the absence of a second trailer more than a year after the first one was released makes it difficult to be calm, since the situation is somewhat disturbing. Despite this, I still trust in the fall of 2025.
