Frederick “Freddy” Moore who used to be Demi Moore’s husband has passed away in hospice care due to a long-standing battle with Alzheimer’s disease after having tried everything in his power to improve his condition, unfortunately, his efforts were unsuccessful as told by his late wife Renee.
Moore married Demi back in 1980 when she was only 18 and then divorced 5 years later
Renee who was with the rocker until the last minute spoke to Radar Online “I just hope he’s hanging out with all his favorite people because if he can’t be with me then I would want him to hang out with his favorite people John Lennon, Tom Petty-any of those guys that he really loved and idolized in so many ways.“
“I hope he’s playing his songs and playing with everybody up there.” Added Renee who married Moore back in 2005.
His most notable singer was “It’s Not a Rumour” while sharing the limelight with The Police, The Motels, and The Knack.
Moore got his Alzheimer’s diagnosis at age 60, and after that, he immediately began fighting the disease with Renee by his side.
“We were trying to figure out what we could do to save him,” Renee told RadarOnline.com. “I tried everything, everything you could possibly imagine.”
Freddy spent his last days in a hospice while Renee was with him most of the time
Unfortunately, Freddy’s health did not improve “He was sick for quite a long time, and he was in hospice care when he stopped being able to walk,” Renee said, who calls him “Rick.” “He stopped being able to eat on his own. He was just in his bed all the time — just sleeping.”
“It had been a long battle with this disease which to me is the worse disease ever – you lose your brain which is your essence.” Renee elaborated.
“We celebrated his life and the amazing person that he was,” she said.
Shannon Guyton co-wrote his memoir with him and got to learn about his deep thoughts and how much music meant to him. “He was just an extraordinary person,” she said. “There was some singing… and I remember feeling him just right there. Music was always there with him all the way to the end. Music was just his soul.”
Renee mentioned that his brain was donated to researchers at UCLA where they had many tests and treatments performed.
