Bill Gates has confessed in a long interview with ‘The Times’ of London. The former Microsoft founder has opened up about all aspects of his life and in particular has lamented one fact. He explained without any problem what he considers to be the biggest mistake of his life.
He is clear about it. His divorce from Melinda French Gates, after 27 years of marriage. That is the only black spot he sees. “It’s the mistake I regret the most,” said the tycoon, recognizing the importance of his relationship with his now ex-wife in his personal and professional development.
“There is a certain wonder in spending your entire adult life with someone because of the memories and the depth of the things you’ve done and having children together,” Gates, who married in 1994 and had three children together, said
“When Melinda and I met, I was quite successful, but not ridiculously successful, that came during the time we were together,” reflected the Microsoft founder
It was in 2021 when the couple announced the end of the relationship. It was “irremediably broken”
However, despite the divorce, the two continued to see each other on a daily basis because they continued to work together at the Gates Foundation for a time. But in 2023 Melinda decided to step down from her position. A decision that, according to Gates, “disappointed” him.
But regardless of this, they maintain a cordial and close relationship for the sake of their family. “Melinda and I still see each other, we have three children and two grandchildren, so there are family events.”
