TCU wide receiver Jack Bech delivered one of the most emotional moments of the 2025 Senior Bowl, catching the game-winning touchdown pass just a month after the tragic death of his older brother, Tiger Bech.
With just seven seconds left on the clock, Bech hauled in a 2-yard touchdown pass from Memphis quarterback Seth Henigan on fourth-and-goal, sealing a dramatic 22-19 victory for the American Team over the National Team in Mobile, Alabama. But this wasn’t just another clutch play. Bech wore the No. 7 jersey in honor of his late brother, a number that held deep significance.
A game-winning catch with a deeper meaning
Tiger Bech, a former All-Ivy League kick returner for Princeton, was among those killed in a tragic pickup truck attack in New Orleans’ French Quarter on New Year’s Day. The loss was devastating for Jack, but instead of letting grief consume him, he channeled it into one of the most inspiring performances of his career.
“Man, it’s simple: My brother has some wings on me,” Bech told NFL Network after the game. “He gave them to me, and he let that all take place. My Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Tiger. Nothing else but them. They’re the reason I did what I did today.”
A standout performance on and off the field
Bech finished the game with six receptions for 68 yards, capping off an impressive week of practices where he consistently made standout plays. His size-6-foot-2-and reliable hands caught the attention of scouts, but it was his resilience and emotional strength that left the biggest mark.
Reflecting on the experience, Bech admitted that football was both a distraction and a tribute: “If I had the option to come here, have the worst week ever, ruin my draft stock, and that meant I could give my brother a hug right now, you know I’d take that. But I don’t think I could have had the week I had if all that didn’t happen.”
Bech’s stellar Senior Bowl performance puts him in elite company, joining past MVPs like Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert, and Daniel Jones. But for him, the victory was personal-one final touchdown for his brother.
