Captain Son Heung-min has missed Spurs’ past three games with a thigh injury. The South Korea star has returned to training with Richarlison and their progress will be monitored ahead of the lunchtime kickoff.
“Sonny and Richy have done some good work and trained with the group, which is a real positive for us,” Postecoglou told Tottenham’s official website. “Sonny was always, hopefully, going to get through this international break really well and be ready, and Richy’s done some good work, so hopefully both will be available for the weekend.”
Wilson Odobert (hamstring) has also returned to light training, while teenage midfielder Lucas Bergvall has been passed fit after returning from duty with Sweden due to a minor injury.
The big decision for Postecoglou will be whether to stick with his attacking midfield configuration, featuring James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski as No. 8s or select Yves Bissouma or Pape Sarr for a little more ballast in light of the Brighton experience. The hunch is that the Spurs boss will double down.
