LSU quarterback Colin Hurley is on the mend after a frightening car crash early Thursday morning. The freshman, who has been turning heads as one of the Tigers’ most promising young players, is in stable condition, according to a statement from his family.
“Colin would like to thank the first responders, the incredible doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Health, and the many Tiger Fans for their care and compassion,” the family shared through ESPN’s Pete Thamel. “Colin is resting and stable while more tests and care are being administered. We are confident he will make a full recovery from this terrible accident.”

The crash happened at around 2:45 a.m. near South Quad Drive and Highland Road on the south side of LSU’s campus. Hurley’s Dodge Charger collided with a tree, leaving him unresponsive when first responders arrived. Firefighters managed to pull him from the vehicle, and while he was in and out of consciousness, they quickly transported him to Our Lady of the Lake Health for treatment.
