Carl Froch reignites his feud with Conor McGregor, criticizing Proper 12 whiskey and warning him against a crossover fight. The animosity between the two began in 2017 when Froch served as a commentator for McGregor’s highly anticipated bout with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.
Speaking to Betting Sites, Froch didn’t hold back, saying, “Conor McGregor was talking s***, wasn’t he? Talking nonsense about me and piping up.” He then expressed his belief that McGregor realized facing him in the boxing ring would be even worse than his defeat against Mayweather. Froch emphasized his size advantage, stating, “Mayweather is a quality fighter, but he’s small, he’s a light boxer. I’m quite heavy, and I’m even heavier now. Been retired for nine years and I keep myself in shape.”
Retired since 2014, Froch achieved a memorable knockout victory over George Groves in front of 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium. On the other hand, McGregor, who hasn’t fought in the UFC for over two years, also hasn’t stepped into the boxing ring since his loss to Mayweather.
While Froch admits having respect for McGregor’s accomplishments, acknowledging his tough fights and financial success, he doesn’t shy away from the possibility of a crossover fight. Froch stated, “If a crossover fight between me and Conor McGregor could happen and people wanted to see it, then I’d happily participate in a boxing match.”
