Newcastle United fans have heard this before. Another big club wants their star striker. This time, it’s Arsenal.
Reports suggest the Gunners are ready to offer £75 million ($93m) worth of players to land Alexander Isak. But should Newcastle even consider it?
Isak has been in incredible form this season. He has scored 17 Premier League goals, just two behind Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Boot.
His performances have made him one of the most wanted strikers in Europe. Now, Arsenal legend Alan Smith has urged Mikel Arteta to go all-in for the Swedish forward.

Speaking to AceOdds.com, Smith said Isak would fit perfectly at Arsenal.
He said: “There’s no settling period needed. He knows the league and is in his mid-20s, the perfect age.”
Newcastle, however, have no reason to let him go. Eddie Howe has built his team around Isak, and losing him would be a huge setback mid-season. The Magpies are aiming for European football, and selling their best striker could hurt those ambitions.
Is Arsenal’s offer for Alexander Isak worth it for Newcastle?
To fund an Isak move, reports claim Arsenal may be willing to part with Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko. The two players, who won the Premier League with Manchester City, have struggled for form this season. Smith believes selling them would help Arsenal raise funds for Isak.
But for Newcastle, this deal makes little sense. Jesus has struggled with injuries, while Zinchenko has lost his place in Arsenal’s starting lineup. Would they really improve Howe’s squad?
The Magpies simply don’t need to sell. With strong financial backing, Newcastle can afford to keep their top players. They are building for the future, and Isak is a key part of that plan.
Newcastle fans will hope the club stands firm. If Arsenal want Isak, they will have to do much better than this.
