Florida SNAP recipients must renew food stamps before their certification period ends, which is the length of time they will receive stamps.
For most Florida households, this is six months of time but it is important to double-check with a caseworker to be sure.
SNAP benefits can be views in a series of ways such as online with a MyACCESS account, in-person with a caseworker or local office or via phone on the SNAP hotline at 1-866-762-2237.
If a person has a MyACCESS account then they can enable email notifications informing them of when it’s time to renew. If this does not happen then the person will receive a letter in the post.
When will food stamps be released?
Food stamps are distributed by Florida from the 1st to 28th of every month based on the 9th and 8th digits of your personal case number, ignoring the final one.
Household changes
- The state must be informed if anyone moves in or out of your household, if financial changes such as income, rent, savings or child support change, work changes and if there are any ABAWD (an adult without a disability/child who works fewer than 20 hours per week).
- Changes are required to be reported within 10 days but in some circumstances this is different, so ensure to check with a caseworker for confirmation.
- Report a new address ASAP to make sure important letters aren’t missed.
