The 2024-25 College Football Playoff (CFP) bracket has officially been set, and the race to the National Championship is about to get intense.
The 12-team field was unveiled on December 8. Here’s a look at what the road to the title will look like.
First 12 team CFP bracket promises epic showdowns
The top four seeds, each representing the highest-ranked conference champions, receive byes into the quarterfinals.
Oregon, the No. 1 seed, leads the way, followed by No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Boise State, and No. 4 Arizona State.
These teams will have some time to prepare for their upcoming challenges.
The culmination of this thrilling journey will be the National Championship game on January 20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, where the two surviving teams will clash for college football’s ultimate prize.

First round took place on Friday, Dec. 20, and Saturday, Dec. 21, featuring four games hosted on campus sites:
- Friday, Dec. 20: Indiana 17 – 27 Notre Dame
- Saturday, Dec. 21: SMU 10 – 38 Penn State
- Saturday, Dec. 21: Clemson 24 – 38 Texas
- Saturday, Dec. 21: Tennessee 17 – 42 Ohio State
Quarterfinals: Results
The quarterfinals, spread across Dec. 31 and Jan. 2, elevating the excitement with New Year’s Six bowl games doubling as playoff matchups:
- Fiesta Bowl: Penn State 31 – 14 Boise State
- Peach Bowl: Texas 39 – 31 Arizona State
- Rose Bowl: Ohio State 41 – 21 Oregon
