Wrexham AFC didn’t show any kind of mercy on a game against a U.S. Women’s Soccer team. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s squad, with a team conformed by former, current, and guest players, didn’t hold back and defeated the ladies 12-0 at The Soccer Tournament in North Carolina.
In only 20 minutes of the game, Wrexham got a 7-0 lead. Former player Lee Trundle managed to score a “poker”. The U.S. women’s soccer team tried to at least made presence on the scoreboard, but wasn’t able to do it on five shots on target they got. On the other hand, Ryan Reynolds’ mixed team had 39 opportunities, managing to convert 12 of them into goals.
The U.S. women’s soccer team was also made up by a mix of former, current and guest players, although a lot of them were former USWNT members. On the field, for example, were retired midfielders Heather O’Reilly and Lori Lindsey. Another figure people could watch was Mia Hamm, who happened to be the manager of the team.

After the game, the ladies didn’t really look upset. They just had fun…
“We’re super proud. Hopefully we’ve proved to anybody, just go for it, just live. What’s the worst that could happen? We lose 16-0 to Wrexham? We don’t care because we’re living, we’re being bold and we’re being brave. Here we have two amazing products that American soccer fans are getting behind. It’s just a ton of fun and it’s brought all of us together”,Heather O’Reilly told NBC Sports Soccer in the post-game interview.
