Ryan Garcia has been making serious accusations on Twitter about Bohemian Grove, a place that exists in the north of San Francisco with many urban legends surrounding it. But just how true are these legends? Founded by a group of journalists who referred to themselves as Bohemians, this is an exclusive club that started at the San Francisco Examiner offices in 1872. The entire operation today has an annual summer camp that is almost entirely hidden from the media. They don’t have a website, there is no email contact, there currently exists no application process, and there is no wait list for any memberships. This is an invite-only club.
Bohemian Grove through the eyes of Alex Jones
Back in the late ’90s, the world got its first glimpse into what Bohemian Grove was after guerrilla journalist and disgraced conspiracy theorist Alex Jones released footage of an alleged satanic ritual at the grove. When he realized he wasn’t invited to this place after a number of attempts, Jones sneaked into the property of the exclusive men’s society known as The Bohemian Club. What he filmed that night remains a mystery as only his side of the story is known today. Their building in San Francisco is way from the forest compound where these gatherings between elites allegedly take place. A plaque of an etching owl can be spotted in the building with a line that reads, “Weaving Spiders Come Not Here.” It is a piece of writing from Shakespeare’s ‘A Midnight Summer Dream‘ that the club turned into their motto.
The grove is fifty miles north of the city, in Monte Rio and it’s in the middle of a 2,700 acre secured private camp among the ancient redwoods. That is where the Bohemian Grove holds a summar event that has taken place every single year for the las one and a half centuries. Alex Jones‘ video depicts this ritual in which there is an alleged sacrifice of a human effigy to a large wooden owl. This large statue is then worshipped as fireworks go off and cloaked high priests pray. We are talking about that type of a club but there have been multiple urban legends of nefarious acts taking place there for decades. In real life, the Bohemian Grove is particularly famous for a Manhattan Project meeting that took place there in September 1942 that subsequently led to the creation of the atomic bomb. The rest of the stories haven’t been properly verified and are deemed as conspiracy theories.
