Lazar Dukic is a household name when it comes to the world of CrossFit, having put in several impressive performances on the international stage over various competitions.
Born in Serbia, Dukic’s name regularly appears near the top of the CrossFit Games. He’s competed in the games several times, with his first appearance dating back to 2017.
That year he finished well off the pace, but he has improves since then. His best finish dates back to 2021, when he finished 34th overall in the men’s competition. That was good enough for ninth out of all European men, as well as top for all Serbians.

Concern grows after Dukic goes missing
Dukic was one of the competitors taking part in the opening day of the CrossFit Games in Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday, however his name is now in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
The Serbian was taking part in an event that involved running and swimming, when he appeared to be struggling during the closing stags of the swim portion.
After appearing to have difficulties staying afloat, Dukic went missing around 100 meters before the finish line.
Once his team notice his absence, they informed the organizers, who noted that the athlete did not make it out of the water, prompting an emergency team to search for the missing man.
Several attendees say they saw Dukic drowning and some even tried to go in to help him, though their efforts were thwarted by a lifeguard. An ambulance is in the area of the event.
The organizers of the CrossFit Games have not yet commented on the matter, but many fans are sending messages of encouragement and hope to the missing man through their social networks. In the meantime, the Crossfit Games have adjusted their schedule as everyone hopes for a positive outcome in the search.
