Fresh controversy has erupted around Meghan Markle after claims emerged suggesting she sparked rumors of a flirtation with Prince William upon joining the royal family.
According to reports, Markle‘s affectionate nature allegedly raised eyebrows within palace circles, fueling gossip that her warm interactions with Prince William were inappropriate.
An anonymous royal source claims that Markle‘s touchy-feely nature was viewed as unusual and out of place within the royal household, where physical interactions tend to be more reserved.
“Meghan hugged [William] virtually every time they bumped into each other,” the source told The Times.
“The hugging and cheek-kissing fueled gossip among the staff that Meghan was flirting with William, which she was obviously not, but the tense atmosphere caused by all the touchy-feeliness (and the resultant gossip) deepened the rift between the brothers.”
Markle‘s uninhibited approach reportedly baffled Prince William, whose more formal and reserved personality was inherited from his father, King Charles III.
The insider further claimed that both Kate Middleton and King Charles were taken aback by Markle‘s unexpected hugs and kisses.
Additionally, a royal staff member reportedly recalled Markle questioning: “Why do William and Charles sound so serious all the time?”
She allegedly joked that Prince Harry must have had different parents, as he “isn’t pompous at all.”
Did Meghan reject Royal protocol?
Reports suggest that Markle struggled with the rigid traditions of the monarchy and felt restricted by its hierarchy.
“She really disliked the hierarchy,” the insider claimed, adding that her strong influence on Prince Harry was perceived as rejecting royal values and traditions.
These tensions only added to the already strained relationship between Harry and William, which has been on a downward spiral since Harry and Meghan‘s royal exit in 2020.
While rumors about Meghan‘s interactions with William continue to swirl, reports also indicate that her marriage to Prince Harry may be in trouble.
Sources claim that the couple has been “living separate lives”, with Markle focusing on her American Riviera Orchard brand in California, while Harry has been dedicating time to his humanitarian work.
“The question for Harry and Meghan this year is how they go about prioritizing their marriage, as they appear to be on completely separate pages in their lives,” a friend of the couple allegedly told RadarOnline.
“Friends are worried that if things get even more tense between them, they may start wondering if it’s all worth it, especially if Harry isn’t happy.”
