The future of galaxies remains one of the most interesting topics for experts. In fact, they will not survive the passage of time. Of course, we are not talking about decades, but billions of years, so we can rest easy for the time being.
Life on Earth is a constantly debated issue. Physicist Crespo, through his Quantum Fracture account, recently explained that the Sun could change galaxies: “Andromeda, the largest galaxy in our cosmic neighborhood, is approaching us at a speed of 400,000 kilometers per hour. The collision is unstoppable. And the reason is the most natural thing in the world: gravity.”
“Within 2 billion years, Andromeda will have traveled the distance that separates it from the Milky Way and, just at their meeting point, they will cross each other,” the expert explained, arguing this issue through what is expected to happen in that distant future.
Crespo: “There is a 2.7 percent chance that the Sun will end up in Andromeda”
Quantum Fracture confirmed that “the Earth is at risk”, although not because of the fact of colliding head-on with another star, something that “is ridiculously unlikely”. However, what could happen is that “we go off the rails and change galactic neighbourhoods”.
“There are even those who estimate a 2.7 percent chance that the Sun will end up in Andromeda and we will go with it at the end of the collision. In the sky we would see how Andromeda becomes huge, overlaps with the Milky Way and then stays, and just in the opposite place a Milky Way becomes smaller and smaller. That’s why I say that the Sun could change galaxies,” he added.
