The president of Matchroom Sports declared that the duel between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, for a potential world title shot against Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Uysk, was practically a done deal, and that it would now only be a matter of time before the clash became official: “We’ve practically got an agreement in principle, subject to a few final discussions.”
Two losses to Tyson Fury
After coming out on the losing end of his trilogy against the Gypsy King, Deontay Wilder didn’t want to retire and had decided to return to the ring. And it was by knocking out Robert Helenius that the Alabamian managed to make a comeback, showing that his losses to Tyson Fury had not buried him.
