Ava Max suffered an incident at her latest concert after a fan climbed on stage and slapped her, during her performance in Los Angeles. The 29-year-old singer did not stop the show and continued singing.
The singer took to social media afterwards to explain just how hard she had been hit, sharing an emotional message with her hundreds-of-thousands of followers.
“He slapped me so hard he scratched the inside of my eye. He’s never coming to a show again. Thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!!” the artist wrote on Twitter explaining what had happened.
The post was flooded with comments of support, such as “Sorry about what happened Ava, we love you,” or “You deserve the best,” and “I’m so sorry this happened to you, people are so disrespectful it’s horrible.”
Immediately, the fan was detained by security agents who took him away. The crowd’s reaction was immediate and they began to applaud her after what happened.
The Bebe Rexha incident
This comes just days after another artist, Bebe Rexha, was hit in the face by a phone thrown from the audience by a fan at her New York show in Manhattan.
She herself posted a photo of her face on social media, revealing the injuries she sustained from the impact.
The device hit her in the face, but fortunately the attacker was arrested and charged with assault. Malvanga, as he is called, sent the singer straight to hospital, leaving her with a black eye.
“She suffered redness, swelling, bruising and a laceration to the eye and considerable pain,” according to police.
The fan in question, Nicolas Malvagna, was released under his own responsibility and ordered to keep his distance from the singer ahead of a court date on 31 July.
