This marks the largest second weekend for an R-rated movie, surpassing Deadpool 2. Oppenheimer’s global haul is expected to reach $395.4 million, making it Nolan’s sixth-biggest film ever.
Meanwhile, Disney’s Haunted Mansion is having a more subdued debut, projected to earn $23 million to $27 million in its opening weekend. The family-friendly live-action flick faced challenges with mediocre reviews, the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike affecting publicity, and a competitive market.
