These two iconic franchises have met now 12 times before in the Fall Classic, with the Yankees holding eight victories to the Dodgers‘ four.
The Yankees, led by power hitters like Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and Giancarlo Stanton, came into the series with Stanton having claimed the American League Championship Series (ALCS) MVP honors.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers counted on their versatile star Shohei Ohtani, as well as Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, set up an exciting showdown between two potent lineups and formidable pitching staffs.
The Dodgers now have rejoin the long list of teams that have claimed the title in the longest-running professional sports competition in the United States.
