Despite playing in the subsequent two games, concerns about his mobility persisted. However, in a recent interview with 96.5 The Fan’s Carrington Harrison, Mahomes reassured fans:
“I’m in a good spot,” Mahomes said. “Everybody’s a little banged up at this time of year, but having the rest obviously helps, and you just kind of prepare yourself to be ready to go.”
The Chiefs clinched the AFC’s No. 1 seed, allowing Mahomes to rest during Week 18 against the Denver Broncos. Although the Chiefs endured a 38-0 shutout-their first under head coach Andy Reid-the decision provided Mahomes with three crucial weeks to recover.
Tuesday’s practice saw Mahomes as a full participant, signaling a promising return to form. His recent performances, which include 12 touchdowns and an average of 254 passing yards per game over his last six outings, highlight his ability to adapt and deliver under pressure.

Mahomes expressed confidence in the team’s readiness after their bye week.
“I mean, you’re in the playoffs. The intensity picks up,” he said. “Everybody’s playing for everything… So you have to go out there and execute. I put my body in a good spot, like our team’s in a good spot. Have a great week of practice and get ready to go.”
Texans present a tough challenge
