Christina Aguilera is opening up about one of the most unforgettable moments in MTV history-the 2003 VMAs kiss shared between her, Madonna, and Britney Spears.
In a new interview with Glamour for the magazine’s August cover story, Aguilera reflected on the iconic on-stage moment that still has people talking more than two decades later.

Aguilera, who was celebrating the 25th anniversary of her debut album, shared her thoughts on the moment with a mix of nostalgia and excitement.
“Love a good makeout moment,” Aguilera told Glamour.
“I love a theme, I love a concept. I love a specific character to get into.”
The pop superstar described the experience of performing alongside Madonna and Britney as something truly special.
“You know, Madonna playing the role of the groom. It was such a cool…like, wow-we’re up here with Madonna and we’re part of this huge moment. It was really fun,” she said, emphasizing the unique energy that surrounded the performance.
“The energy leading up to it, the rehearsals, everything. It was pretty magical.”
The now-iconic kiss took place as the trio performed a medley of “Like A Virgin” and “Hollywood,” with Madonna first locking lips with Britney Spears before turning to Aguilera.
The moment was met with shock and applause, instantly becoming one of the most talked-about performances in VMAs history.

The singer also spoke candidly about her experiences with body shaming in the music industry.
Reflecting on her early years, Aguilera recalled how music executives were critical of her appearance, particularly as she gained weight in her 20s.
“When you’re a teenager, you have a very different body than when you’re in your 20s,” Aguilera explained.
“I started to fill out, and then that was unacceptable because it was like, ‘Oh, she’s getting thicker.'”
Despite the pressure to maintain a certain image, Aguilera has consistently pushed back against industry expectations, embracing her body and evolving her musical style.
Today, she is focused on finding a balance between her career and motherhood, hinting at new music on the horizon but also prioritizing time with her family.
“When you’re a mom, it’s not about narcissism. It’s not just about you,” Aguilera said, highlighting her current mindset.
“You have to make sure you’re not sleeping on yourself and still doing the things that make you feel good.”
