Marvel Cinematic Universe star Dakota Johnson has rushed to the defense of her relationship by slamming rumors that she has split up with Coldplay’s Chris Martin, adding that she is happily engaged to the iconic musician.
The pair have been together since 2017 and live in Malibu, California, together but reports claimed they were over on Friday, August 16 despite being seen publicly as recently as June 2024 at Glastonbury.
Rumors were worsened by the fact that the Madame Web actress hasn’t appeared at Coldplay’s European leg of their “Music of the Spheres” tour, before it was claimed she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring but now she’s hit back.
“The reports are not true,” Johnson’s rep told PageSix.com on August 16. “They are happily together.”

Throughout their time together, the couple has maintained a relatively private relationship, rarely discussing their romance in public but they are often seen together at events.
Both Johnson and Martin have reportedly grown close to each other’s families, further solidifying their union which is set for a marriage in the future after Johnson was spotted wearing her green engagement ring.
They trust each other deeply too. Despite previously being married to Gwenyth Paltrow, Johnson is comfortable with Martin hanging out with her as they co-parent their children together and they’re regularly spotted on trips along with Paltrow’s new partner.
“I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart,” Johnson told Bustle of Martin and Paltrow’s kids. “I grew up in a family that was so big, and I just believe in the saying ‘Blood is thicker than water.’
“The actual saying is, ‘The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb,’ which means that the connections with people you choose are more solid than the connections to the people you’re actually born to.”
