Travis Kelce has poured thousands of his net worth into jacking up security at his mansion in Kansas City, months after the NFL star’s home was raided by criminals who stole several personal items, narrowly missing Taylor Swift who was in Missouri at the time.
The robbery occurred in October 2024 on the same day, his close friend and teammate Patrick Mahomes was also targeted in what the NFL described as a transnational crime ring. Kelce remains deeply unsettled by the break-in proves to be determined to prevent a repeat.
The 35-year-old tight end has significantly upgraded his home security, as per The US Sun, by investing $40,000 on a state-of-the-art alarm system and additional security measures at his Leawood home, along with 10 CCTV cameras, upgraded motion detectors, and security lighting.
He has also purchased two guard dogs, a German Shepherd and an Anatolian Shepherd canine, for $9000 to protect him and his family, along with two security guards at a monthly cost of $6,000.
“Travis felt the urgency of taking care of this situation as soon as possible,” the source told The US Sun. “It was very uncomfortable to deal with.
“Travis decided to do things the best way, investing money in alarms, security personnel, and dogs to put himself in the safest situation possible.
“All he wants is to be safe. His home is a sanctuary, and he doesn’t want to go through such a violation again.”

Burrow Thieves Arrested After Break-In
Four Chilean nationals were arrested earlier this month in connection with a December burglary at Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow‘s mansion in Ohio, initially thought to be connected to the criminals who ransacked Kelce and Mahomes‘ homes.
According to court documents, the suspects were apprehended on January 10 during a traffic stop, where authorities discovered evidence linking them to the crime. Investigators allege the group broke into Burrow’s home on December 9 while he was away for a game.
Authorities found stolen items, including an LSU shirt and a Bengals cap, in their possession. The arrests mark a step forward in combating the growing trend of targeted burglaries against professional athletes.
Following the incidents, the NFL issued a memo to teams and players warning that professional athletes’ homes are being increasingly targeted by organized crime groups. Experts revealed that these criminals can disable alarm systems and carry out burglaries in under 15 minutes.
Athletes were advised to be cautious with social media posts showcasing expensive items and to invest in security systems, cameras, and motion-sensor lighting. Players from the NBA have also been targeted.
